We now offer our rigs for sale. We offer a deluxe edition and a standard edition of the
hearse rig. Both types of rigs have a full suspension and hydraulic disc brakes.
Major assemblies and parts are powder coated for durability. A steering damper assembly,
which lessens the possibility of potentially dangerous front-end wobble, is included with
both editions. The hearse rigs are made using "Chrome Moly" (chromium molybdenum),
a general purpose steel that is widely used by motorsports industries. Its lightweight,
high strength, flexibility, and weldability are ideal for designing a rig that can stand up to
the rigors of daily use.
The deluxe edition has a hydraulic-operated deck that raises and lowers for loading and unloading. It also comes with a chrome rear bumper, fender tip and running lights. The standard edition is similar in appearance to the rig shown here, but has a stationary deck and is equipped with a standard taillight. The wiring harness that operates the running lights on both editions, and the hyrdraulics on the deluxe edition, has been designed for compatibility with late model FL Harley Davidson frames, but can be adapted to fit other brands. Both editions can be upgraded to include a plug-in wiring harness for FL's. The six deck panels on both rigs are fiberglass and are interchangeable from side to side. The bier pins (end clamps), rollers, and skid bars used on the deck are the same as those found in automobile hearses. The fender comes in black, but can be painted to match your bike if the color is available. A recommended guide for setting up your rig, The Sidecar Manual by Hal Kendal, is found at www.sidecar.com under "Links and Books". Other helpful information can be found in the Harley-Davidson Sidecars Service Manual for your year motorcycle.
